Tatyana Smirnova

Tatyana Smirnova was born in 1968 in Vyatka. Between 1985 and 1989, she studied at the Regional College of Art, where her teachers were Samsonov and Zholobov. After participation in different regional exhibitions her name has become wellknown. In a search for her own style she tried to find the unity between nature and mankind, putting the accent not so much on the real forms and features of painted objects, but more tried to interpret their hidden values like as soul, feelings and beauty. She is carried away by unusual natural forms, pieces of branches and roots, interlacings of hair and fingers. The source of her inspiration are russian medieval texts (Vedi), famous russian and european painters, as, for example, Bosch.
